In its first version, FICA rises as the successful industry platform of the Caribbean

  • The Industrial Trade Fair of the Caribbean, organized by Corferias, accomplished an important exhibition, with the participation of 100 leading companies in industrial machinery, equipment and technology, as well as a massive attendance of over 3.000 potential buyers.
  • The Atlantic Intertrade Committee hand by hand with Corferias, hosted a relevant panel discussion focused in creating a roadmap to set the Special Economic Zone of the Caribbean, linking Santa Marta with Barranquilla
  • Inside the Complimentary Agenda, FICA counted with trend topics about energy efficiency, productivity technologies, hydraulics, plant intelligence systems and industrial automation.

 

With the participation of around 100 local, national and International exhibitors and the attendance of over 3.000 professional visitors, the first version of the Industrial Trade Fair of the Caribbean took place, organized by Corferias at Puerta de Oro – Convention Center of the Caribbean

This version stepped forward to position itself as the most important industrial exchange platform of the Caribbean with national and international companies. FICA displayed in 3 days: industrial machinery and equipment, capital goods and services oriented to boost the productivity and development of industries to make them more competitive in this Global Economy era.

The most representative sub-sectors in the fair were Metallurgy and metalworking, steel, hardware, plastics and chemicals, industrial safety, energy, HVAC; automation, plant intelligence, instrumentation and alternative services.

FICA emerges in response of the need to create in Barranquilla a business and growing scenario and commercial exchange as a HUB in the Great Caribbean, based on the industry modernization and committed in the regional competitiveness with national and international recognition. 

“With FICA we granted a commercial meeting and knowledge exchange place between businessmen of our country and potential buyers in the Caribbean Region. Inside the fair targets, we consolidated an industrial exhibition with international vision for the next three versions, allowing an economic opening of our region to the countries of the Andean region, Central America and the Caribbean”.

“We are living inside an industrial and technological revolution frame, aimed to reduce operation costs, efficiency on use of resources and sustainability, making this event a contributor for molding the business network of the Caribbean, the economic development of this country to face globalization challenges and economy digitalization,” commented Mr. Juan Esteban Perez – Managing Director of Corferias Caribe, during the closing of the event.

In this fair, exhibitors had the opportunity to offer a wide portfolio of the most updated products and services, reiterating that innovation is a key component to stay ahead in the current competitive global market.

FICA was also the scenario of an important panel discussion, organized by the Atlantic Intertrade Committee hand by hand with Corferias, focused in creating a roadmap to set the Special Economic Zone of the Caribbean, linking Santa Marta with Barranquilla and attracting core companies integrated into the Global Value Chain.

Inside the Complimentary Agenda, FICA counted with trend topics about energy efficiency, productivity technologies, hydraulics, plant intelligence systems and industrial automation.
